Trial of Internet cateringservices in Delhi on six pair of trains was inaugurated by Ministry of Railways on 27 January 2015.  This service has been implemented by the Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation as per the entrustment.




This Act has made the ease and cozy cateringservices for the passengers that they can make a call or SMS for their meals to be served in their seat in the train enroute. Once this catering service Delhi trial was succeeded, the formal launch will be continued as per this trial report!



Catering Service offered to six trains on the trial basis is:

15707/15708 (Katihar-Amritsar Exp)
11057/11058 (Amritsar-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Exp)
12497/ 12498 (Shane Punjab Exp)
14037/14038 (Delhi-Pathankot Exp)
12459/12460 (New Delhi-Amritsar Exp) and
14673/14674 (Shaheed Exp)




The food will be served for the passengers form the IRCTC Food Plaza or from station catering units once the order for their breakfast or meals. They are optioned with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian!

Five Food Nominated Stations are

New Delhi,
Delhi,
Nizamuddin,
Amritsar and
Ludhiana only


Passengers have to book their meal through call or SMS with the PNR numbers, so only they can get their ordered meal once the PNR numbers are confirmed. Services are available only with the PNR numbers.


Available Toll Free Numbers are 1800 1034 139 (Toll free) or 0120 4383892-99 (8 lines).  He/She have to give the PNR number, first which is to be confirmed (about their affirmation reputation, coach number, train number, seat number.). The particular traveling will then possibly be recommended in regards to the offered food list and also their price ranges. The particular order will then be taken according to inclination and also availability along with his cell number and also email-id.
Travelers also can mail a SMS for 139 using format: MEAL (SPACE) (PNR).  If the SMS is acquired and the PNR number is confirmed, the passengers will call down to take their order.
Once the order is noted the passenger will supposed to receive the message through call or SMS as a conformational call or message which states about
Item wise order,
The PNR no.
The train no.
Coach/Seat no. and
 The billed amount.

Minimum booking time is 2 hours and the service will be done on cash on delivery!
